Three and a half stars

After seeing the cover art for Rafter’s Sex Death Cassette I figured I had a new coaster; luckily, I was wrong. Drum machines, funky rhythms, quirky keyboards, handclaps, slacker-meets-sexy vocals and far-out effects arranged in unthinkable ways make for a big, shiny thinking man’s pop/dance album. You’ve never heard anything like the way-too-modern Sex Death Cassette.

Sounds like:
Hipsters throwing a dance party in 2025.
