Punk Rock Night with the Crank County Daredevils and The Last Vegas

Video games don’t seem like the first place you’d look to score a rock and roll hit. Radio or MTV seem like more rational mediums to promote one’s music. For hard rockers The Last Vegas, a spot in a video game was a bigger career boost than MTV could ever be.

Their song “Raw Dog” was selected to be featured in the wildly popular video game Guitar Hero II.

The game requires the players study the songs in order to master them. So, with a hot single burned into the skulls of gamers around the globe, The Last Vegas are touring in an attempt to cash in on their game fame.

The music itself is radio-friendly hard rock in the vein of Buckcherry or Audioslave but with a touch of glam-rock sleaze and a hint of garage energy. With song titles like “Seal the Deal,” “Hot Leather” and “All the Way,” it’s obvious that these bad boys love the ladies. One look at their album covers will confirm this.

But The Last Vegas aren’t all about sex and drugs; they also care about kids. The band recently teamed up with NASCAR star Kyle Busch to play NASCAR events and to donate musical equipment to a musical therapy program at St. John’s Children’s Home in Grand Rapids, Mich.

So, if you need to find music to listen to while working on your hot rod or you’re looking to start a career as a groupie, then you need to be at the Melody Inn Saturday night.
