At long last, after countless crappy unauthorized releases, Popeye the Sailor Man finally gets his day on DVD, as the 60 original Fleischer Studios Popeye cartoons are presented in chronological order on a four-disc box set, fully-restored from the original negatives in glorious black and white. Also included are the first two color two-reel specials. Hot-diggity dog! 540 minutes.
DVD INFO: Over five hours worth of bonus materials, with commentary tracks, substantial retrospectives, behind-the-toons featurettes and bonus shorts.
