Not too technical
by Letter to the Editor Oct 10, 2007

Hammer, you are one incredible jackass, and you demonstrate this quite often in your weekly NUVO column. But I especially like it when you show your true ignorance in such a demonstrated fashion as your recent article “Buyer’s Remorse” (Hammer, Oct. 3-10) regarding the new stadium and the Colts’ impact on the local economy.

You obviously have no background or education in the areas of finance, economics or sports management, so why don’t you confine your column to the mindless drivel that normally occupies that space, subjects like new smoking ordinances that piss you off, or the crappy apartment you live in, or Bush-bashing in general (he deserves it).

Please, Hammer, get your ass off the couch on an average Colts’ Sunday game-day morning about 10:30 and head through any local Marsh, Kroger or equal and tell me what you see. Then, any time after about 11 a.m., go to some local restaurants and watering holes and tell me what you see. On the way home, stop by the mall or an apparel store and tell me what you see. What you’ll see is real spending and basic economic development that would not be in place without the Colts or professional sports in general, and this goes on throughout most of Central Indiana. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, but I don’t want to get too technical for you.
