• The competition is heating up for Kanye West and 50 Cent. 50 says if Kanye sells more records than him, he is done recording solo albums for good.
• Amy Winehouse collapsed from an apparent drug overdose and was rushed to the hospital to have her stomach pumped.
• On Aug. 21, Paul McCartney will release a live six-song EP exclusively on iTunes, recorded at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in the U.K.
• It appears Oasis will finally release their tour documentary, Lord Don’t Slow Me Down, in October.
• The Cure have delayed the release of their upcoming untitled album. An April/May 2008 release is now anticipated.
• To celebrate Elvis Week, QVC will broadcast live from Graceland on Thursday, Aug. 16 for a special two-hour show. The broadcast will give an inside look at the life of Elvis and, as expected, sell Elvis memorabilia.
• The Shins have announced a fall tour in October, but there’s no Indianapolis date.
• A Huey Lewis tribute album will be released in 2008. My Brightest Diamond, the Long Winters, Catfish Haven and many others have been confirmed for the album.
