• Need an excuse for a summer road trip? How about great music? Columbus, Ohio’s Schottenstein Center heats up June 13 with Cyndi Lauper, Erasure, Debbie Harry of Blondie and the piano-frenzied Dresden Dolls. Then The Police make a comeback July 14 at Louisville, Ky.’s Churchill Downs. Hit Cincinnati, Ohio’s famed Bogarts to see Social Distortion July 18. But Chicago is the real place to be this summer (other than Indy’s Verizon Wireless Music Center and the Lawn at White River) to hear the biggest acts. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac and Chris Isaak headline the Charter One Pavilion June 8. On July 13-15, the Pitchfork Music Festival brings in Yoko Ono, Sonic Youth, Cat Power, the New Pornographers and De La Soul to Union Park. Remember the Cranberries? Dolores O’Riordan plays the House of Blues July 15. Then on Sept. 15, see legend Emmylou Harris at the Ravinia.
