• Modest Mouse’s latest record, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, took the No. 1 spot on the charts last week, selling more than 100,000 copies.

• The first annual Festies (U.S. Music Festival Awards) just took place. Bonnaroo took home the award for U.S. Music Festival of the Year.

• The Dave Matthews Band has announced its annual Indianapolis area stop. The band will perform Aug. 17-18 at the Verizon Wireless Music Center.

• Robert Smith of the Cure is reportedly working on a collaboration with Ashlee Simpson. Please say this isn’t true.

• The Beatles have finally confirmed they will indeed be releasing their back catalogue online this year. No official date has been set.
