• Kanye West’s mother, who is also his manager, died last weekend due to complications from plastic surgery.

• Kelly Clarkson will release a new record in 2008.

• Gene Simmons is currently working on a book on the history of prostitution.

• Death Cab for Cutie’s guitarist Chris Wall will be releasing his first solo record, Field Manual, on Jan. 29, 2008.

• ATO Records will distribute Radiohead’s newest record, In Rainbows. It will be available in stores in the U.S. on Jan. 2, 2008.

• Pete Doherty is entering rehab, again.

• Weezer will release its sixth album on April 22, 2008. Frontman Rivers Cuomo also has a solo disc coming out soon.

• Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood have announced a double headlining tour. Currently, Chicago is the closest stop.

• The dates for the 2008 Coachella Music Festival have been announced. Mark April 25-27, 2008, on your calendar.
