• Paul Raven, bass player for Killing Joke, died unexpectedly in Geneva in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 20.

• Jazz singer Peter Cincotti has cancelled his upcoming Nov. 2 performance at Indy’s Clowes Memorial Hall.

• The Verve are releasing their first new batch of original music in more than 10 years this week. Log onto www.nme.com to hear the songs.

• The Wu-Tang Clan’s highly anticipated LP will be released on Dec. 11, and Ghostface’s new solo effort will be released one week earlier on Dec. 4.

• Kid Rock was arrested over the weekend after he was involved in a fight at a Waffle House.

• Jay-Z has announced a short tour in support of his forthcoming record. The tour will hit five cities, including Chicago’s House of Blues.

• T.I. plead not guilty to multiple charges after allegedly attempting to purchase machine guns and silencers through his bodyguard from a federal agent.

• NERD is currently in the studio working on a new record.

• Beck will make a guest appearance on Sia’s next record.

• Rivers Cuomo will release a collection of demos that includes a cover of Ice Cube’s “The Bomb” on Dec. 12.

• Amidst criticism from many African American community leaders and the NAACP, Nas has changed the title of his upcoming release, Nigga, to the title, Nigger. It’s not much of a compromise.
