• Timbaland has hinted at an early retirement from music. He recently said he was too innovative for current music and planned on passing the torch soon.

• After Prince gave away copies of his new record to a U.K. newspaper, Sony BMG dropped distribution of the record.

• Universal Music announced their intentions not to renew their contract with iTunes.

• In an interview last week, Larry King mistakenly called Ringo “George.”

• Two stagehands died following a Rolling Stones concert in Madrid. A piece of the set collapsed as they attempted to dismantle it.

• Guitar Center was sold for $1.9 billion to the Bain Capital Group.

• Lily Allen turned herself in to the police in London for allegedly assaulting a photographer.

• The Band of Horses have completed their new record and are hoping for an October release.

• The Verve have confirmed a reunion. They will play a few select U.K. dates and also plan on recording new material.
