• Ticketmaster announced via an internal memo that it will not renew its contract with promotions juggernaut Live Nation in 2008. But what will happen to all those service fees that we love so?
• Appleseed Recordings will release Give US Your Poor, a multi-artist benefit CD devoted to fighting homelessness, Sept. 25. Artists will range from Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi to Natalie Merchant and Keb Mo’.
• Fuzion Entertainment will soon launch IndieFuze.com, which will include art, music, comedy and poetry.
• Chemical Brothers announced their first U.S. tour in five years. It’s no surprise you’ll have to Megabus it to Chicago on Sept. 24 to see them.
• Spoon has changed some fall tour details. They have yet to fix the important issue of no Indy date. We’re still waiting …
• Babyshambles, Pete Doherty’s group, is set to release a sophomore album, Shotter’s Nation. Been-around-the-block producer Stephen Street (Smiths, Morrissey, Blur) recorded and produced the album.
• The Cure postponed its fall tour until the spring to “remodel/rework the live show for North America” after playing the “same old show” in Australia and New Zealand.
