Mozart vs. Beethoven … and Archibald
by Editors Jan 23, 2008
Mozart vs. Beethoven is the theme of the latest in the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra’s series of “Chamber Conversations,” to be held Jan. 26, 5:30 p.m. at the Indiana History Center’s Lilly Hall. Selections by these two composers — Mozart’s Symphony No. 1 and Viola Quintet in G minor and Beethoven’s Romance No. 2 in F Major and String Quartet in F minor — will be juxtaposed, highlighting details of the masters’ loves and losses. To top things off, the ICO, under the direction of Kirk Trevor, will present the world premiere of a new composition by Becky Archibald, “Sailing with Ludwig.” Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students and can be purchased by calling 317-940-9607 or going to www.icomusic.org. The History Center is located at 450 W. Ohio St. n
