‘Meet the Artists XIX’
Meet the Artists, the annual gala gathering of local African-American visual artists, celebrates its 19th year throughout the month of February at the Indiana State Museum. A Gala Reception will be held Feb. 3 from 5-10 p.m.
Artists in this year’s show include Florene Allen, Mason Archie, Jerome W. Chambers, Floyd E. Kenney, Keith Island, George D. Murff, Anthony W. Radford, Marc Shabazz, Judie L. Sloan, Mijiza Yaa Soyini and Michele Wood. This year’s youth artist is Tasha Vaden-Beckwith.
The ISM will also exhibit works by the late William Edouard Scott.
The reception will feature a workshop and performance by Drums of West Africa, youth entertainment by Kenyetta Dance Company, storytelling and games by Ro Ro the Clown, music by the Tony Cheeseborough Band and a fashion extravaganza coordinated by DLANG Fashion LLC.
