• The Emerson Theater has received several noise complaints, putting pressure on the all-ages live music venue to either end shows by 10 p.m. or close entirely. Emerson supporters are urged to attend the next Emerson Heights Community Meeting on Thursday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Wallace Street Presbyterian Church to make their opinions heard.

• Local hip-hop guru Rusty Redenbacher has his hands in multiple music projects currently. He performs in the Mudkids with guests Josh Garrels and DJ Orion at Seven in Broad Ripple Saturday, June 9 for the release party of PEEL magazine’s eighth issue. Attendees get free copies of the magazine while supplies last. Cover is $3. Music starts at 9 p.m. In addition, every Monday night, hear comedy and hip-hop at Morty’s Comedy Joint, hosted by Redenbacher. Tuesdays at Spin Nightclub, Redenbacher spins hip-hop and classic soul for “Rusty’s Big Noise.” Lastly, support the Hungry-Man’s Movement Tuesday, June 12 at Birdy’s Bar & Grill with Lazarus (Redenbacher’s new side project), DJ Topspeed, Sub-Urban Situation, Code Red, the Bottom Line and DJ Shadow.
