• If you missed the Naptown Roller Girls at last Saturday’s Skate and Spin, there’s still one more chance to see them before their first match of the season: The “Naptown Juke Stomp” at Radio Radio on Friday, Dec. 14, a pep rally for the Roller Girls that will feature the King Louie One Man Band from New Orleans. King Louie covers the whole Bayou single-handedly with electric guitar in hand and a kick-drum at his feet: Cajun roots-rock, swamp-blues and Southern soul are the main ingredients, but only the night will tell what goes into the bouillabaisse. Add a pinch of Sloppy Seconds for Danny Thompson’s punk project, Dan Glenzig; a little more kudzu from the “Barrel Aged Mother Fuckers” that are Whiskeytits; and the dregs of Washington Street in Creepin’ Charley to finish off the show. Doors at 8:30 p.m. and $5 gets you in.

• Local metal band Trenches was signed to Solid State Records this week, and are currently recording a full-length for release on the label.

• The world’s first robotic guitar has hit the market, and it does everything but play itself: The $2,500 beast automatically tunes to the player’s choice of standard, open E, dropped D, DADGAD, open G, Hendrix and double dropped D tunings. Guitarworks in Greenwood premiered the technology Dec. 7.
