‘Living the Legacy’
by Editors May 31, 2006

June 3, the Martin Luther King Center will celebrate its 35th anniversary by featuring speaker and honoree Myrlie Evers-Williams, widow to slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers. The event will be held at the Children’s Museum, 3000 N. Meridian St., from 8:30-10:30 a.m.

The Martin Luther King Center, established in 1971, serves children and families through creative programs that promote hope and a sense of community. The center has provided assistance and case management to thousands of families, mainly throughout the near Northside. The programs and services for the community continue to focus on senior citizens and adults, children and youth, and family and community. The King Center continues to gain recognition as one of the city’s most progressive social service organizations, with innovative programs for all ages and audiences.

There are a limited number of tickets available. For information, call 317-684-7711.
