The Indianapolis Art Center adds yet another dimension to its ARTSPARK Sept. 14 with the opening of the Nina Mason Pulliam Sensory Path, a sound installation by San Francisco-based musician Cenk Ergun. Ergun spent several days last fall recording sounds around the Art Center, including the White River, ARTSPARK visitors and Monon Trail traffic. He then mixed these found sounds with other recorded sounds and electronic laptop music. A series of sensors and speakers create a path connecting the Monon Trail with the east entrance of the Art Center.

A native of Turkey, Ergun is the composer-in-residence with the multimedia dance company group A.

The Sensory Path opening celebration takes place from 5:30-10:30 p.m. Ergun will be at the Art Center from 6-7 p.m. to talk about the installation and answer questions. For a complete list of activities, visit www.indplsartcenter.org.
