Kids’ dance camp with Savion Glover

Savion Glover blew us away last year when he performed at the Walker Theatre. Now Glover returns to Indy Aug. 20-23 to lead the “Savion Glover Dance Camp.” The four-day dance intensive, targeting inner-city youth ages 5-18, will focus on the fundamentals of tap dance. Classes will be formed by age level with no auditions or placement classes required. The cost for the camp is $250 per student and the class size is limited to 75 students. A select number of scholarships will be available. Preteen classes will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. and teen classes from 8:30-10 p.m. in the Madame Walker ballroom and theater. The registration deadline is July 30 and will be on a first come, first served basis. Camp fees are nonrefundable. For registration materials, call the Madame Walker Theatre Center at 317-236-2099.
