Kenyetta’s opener
by Editors Nov 7, 2007

Speaking Without Words sets the theme for the opening concert of Kenyetta Dance Company’s fourth season on Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. at the American Cabaret Theatre, 401 E. Michigan St. The concert will include a blend of dance styles and genres, combining contemporary modern dance with a sense of theater. Artistic director Nicholas Owens and founder Vanessa R. Owens have forged a style aimed at preserving African-American culture. Proceeds from the performance will enable Kenyetta to participate in the 20th Annual International Association of Blacks in Dance Conference in Dallas. Tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for children 10 and under. Call 317-291-7078 for information and reservations.
