Juno
Four stars (PG-13)
Ellen Page

Sixteen-year-old Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) just found out she’s pregnant. The way she handles the situation, along with her parents (J.K. Simmons and Allison Jamey, both at their best), the befuddled father (Michael Cera) and other interested parties (Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman), makes for one of the brightest, funniest, quirkiest and sweetest films to come along in quite some time. Sure, Diablo Cody’s screenplay is terribly pleased with itself, but it’s such a treat that the smugness can be dismissed as the folly of youth. 95 minutes. DVD INFO: A single-disc regular edition and a two-disc special edition are available. The fancy version includes a commentary track by Cody and director Jason Reitman, plus a heap of extras.
