Robert Downey Jr. is terrific as billionaire weapons maker Tony Stark in actor/director Jon Favreau's big-screen adaption of the Marvel superhero series. Iron Man's origin story has more depth than most superhero tales, or at least it feels that way thanks to the impressive cast, which includes Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard and Gwyneth Paltrow. The third act confrontation is weak, but the movie still packs a punch. Keep seated through the closing credits for a cookie. 126 minutes. DVD INFO: Several editions are available. The two-disc set includes deleted scenes, numerous making-of featurettes, Robert Downey Jr.'s screen test, and more.
