Huss and Phillips sweat to success
by RCA Tennis Jul 12, 2006

The heat doesn't beat doubles team, Huss and Phillips

There wasn’t a dry armpit in the stadium this afternoon at the RCA Tennis Championships.

Fans shifted themselves one the sweltering metal seats, tried to stay shaded beneath umbrellas and cool off with brightly colored, hand-held battery fans, doubles team Gilles Muller (LUX) and Paradon Srichaphan (THA) worked up a sweat that didn’t quite cut it. In Doubles Round 1, Stephen Huss (AUS) and Tripp Phillips (USA) beat the duo in two sets with a score of 6-2, 6-4.

Just before the doubles match, Jeff Morrison (USA) defeated Santiago Gonzalez (MEX) 6-2, 6-2.

On other courts, Paul Capdeville (CHI) beat Thomas Behrend (GER) with a score of 6-2, 6-0. Alejandro Falla (COL) defeated Jean-Christophe Faurel (FRA) 6-4, 6-2. Danai Udomchoke (THA) defeated Thomas Cakl (CZE) 6-2, 6-2.
