Haste the Day, Demiricous, The Dream is Dead benefit show
by Jack Shepler Aug 15, 2007

Knights of Columbus, 2100 E. 71st St.
Wednesday, Aug. 15, 7 p.m., $15, all-ages

You may remember back in early July, NUVO published a music piece about local bands having equipment stolen from their public storage and practice space downtown. Since then, police have stepped up their investigation of the thefts, and Guitar Center and local band Haste the Day are going to help the affected bands replace their equipment.

Although there hasn’t been any real news regarding the investigation, there is still hope for The Dream is Dead, Demiricous, Whiskey Tits and Black Arrows of Filth & Impurity.

Demiricous and The Dream is Dead will perform an all-ages show tonight (Wednesday, Aug. 15) at Knights of Columbus on 71st Street. Since an air guitar show would be pretty boring (or totally awesome?), Guitar Center will provide instruments for the band to play at the show, which will then be raffled off, with proceeds going to the bands to replace their equipment. Christian hardcore band Haste the Day will also lend their ever-popular name and performance to the $15 bill, with proceeds going to the cause.

Don’t come to the show expecting a pity party; come because you want to support the bands you love and the local music community. This event will not only make for a hard rockin’ show and a chance to see Haste the Day before they re-embark on a tour of the States, but it will also be a good opportunity for the community to help the boys get their toys back and get back on the road, doing what they love.
