Three stars (PG-13)
Daniel Radcliffe

Holy smokes, Hogwarts has been taken over by Republicans! Paranoia, alienation and angst abound in the latest film based on J.K. Rowling’s books, where it appears that the bleak shall inherit the earth. Harry (Radcliffe) mopes and glowers a lot — with good reason, but it gets a bit tiresome. Meanwhile, Imelda Staunton (Vera Drake) steals the movie as instructor Delores Umbridge, who looks like your sweet old aunt and behaves like Brian Bosma. 139 minutes.

DVD INFO: Three separately packaged DVDs are available, two regular versions (widescreen or fullscreen) and a two-disc special edition. The pricey edition includes 11 minutes of additional scenes, a tour of the production compound, a 45-minute featurette about the themes and plot twists, plus an interactive editing featurette.
