by Editors Sep 12, 2007
Raymond Leppard is a gift to this community that keeps giving. The University of Indianapolis kicks off its annual Faculty Artist Series with a free 80th birthday celebration for Maestro Raymond Leppard, conductor laureate of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and an artist-in-residence at the university, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. Leppard will begin the concert with the St. Paul’s Suite by Holst, followed by Mozart’s E-flat Concerto, K. 449, with pianist Richard Ratliff. After intermission, Leppard will discuss his career with UIndy choral director Paul Krasnovsky, then lead the university choral ensembles, faculty and guest soloists and the Festival Orchestra in Schubert’s Mass in G Major.
