I’m pretty convinced that the reason NUVO is so successful and widely-distributed is because of your unashamedly controversial columns (Hammer, “Who or What Gives Us Freedom?” July 2-9). I’ve read and appreciated them for many years now.

I will always respect and support our military. But combat specialists are not the only individuals who fight for freedom. We all do, every day. We have to fight for minimum wage, and, once we get it, we have to fight to keep it from being taken by collection companies, the IRS, OPEC, etc.

Anyway, just wanted to tell you you’re doing a great job, keep up the good work, you’ve got an intelligent, opinionated, left-leaning, hanky-stomping, bitchy liberal in your corner.
