Easley Winery; May 20
Easley’s sixth season of free live music opened deliciously with jazzy blues stylist Mary Moss and keyboardist Allen Burke, followed by vocalist Larry Green’s velvet ballads, with Carl K. Hines on keyboards, in the Fermentation Room. Outside in the expanded and newly treed wine garden, Ken Wilson, Brian Sherwood and Debbie Wilson alternated with Acoustic Catfish (Rob Gobetz, Jim Pennel and Monika Mueller) to up the coolish temperature for an appreciative crowd equally enjoying “Alfresco fare” catered by Chef’s Academy, Santorini’s Greek Kitchen and Circle City Pizza. The family-friendly, no-cover, no-minimum venue features a variety of music genres through Sept. 30, Tuesdays, 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays, 2-5 p.m. Easley wines are showcased each week. Tuesday, this reporter especially enjoyed the “crisp, light, tropical” Governor’s Pinot Grigio, a dry white wine with a brisk opening bouquet and a lingering fruity finish.
