Mixing artful with accessible rarely translates as effortlessly as it does on Spoon’s sixth great minimalist rock LP. Full of both a fire not heard so unashamedly since Series of Sneaks and a rejuvenated love for power hooks, Austin’s finest have recorded an album that invites indie rock outsiders into their world of pocket classics and oddball arrangements.
