Music will be a huge part of Indy’s Pride weekend. The stars of the DJ world will perform at Foreplay on Thursday, June 7, at the Therapy Nightclub and Lounge. This is the first big event for sideTrack, an electronic music event and production organization. Foreplay expects to bring together Indy’s electronic music and gay communities. DJ Deanne headlines the evening. She spins once a month at Talbott Street, makes quarterly appearances on South Beach and has a weekly radio mix show, FixXxation, which airs on several radio stations. Deanne will put on a two-hour set for the event. Other DJs include sideTrack founders Bryan Luellen and Jackola.

The after-the-parade festival features several local and national musical acts including Cathy Morris, the Pride of Indy Marching Band, Cynthia Layne, Ultra Nate, Amuka and Fredrick Ford.

Ford is known for his steamy on-screen work, but his love has always been music. His music career hit the ground running with his Billboard dance chart single “Too Funky.”

“Pride events are my favorite gigs — the diversity of the crowds, the enthusiasm — there’s an energy in the air that is electrifying,” Ford says. “I have heard wonderful things about Indy Pride Festival, and I’m so excited to bring my show to town. I have a strong fan base in Indiana who have been eager to get me out there, so I can’t wait to meet them and to get the crowd dancing!”

Editor’s note: Indy Pride events take place Friday, June 8-Sunday, June 10. For more information on other performers and the Pride Parade, visit www.indyprideinc.com.
