The 76th annual Marion County Fair is July 20-29 at the Marion County Fairgrounds, 7300 E. Troy Ave.

This year’s fair promises to be the biggest and best in its long history, says Nadeen Biddinger, one of 12 members of the Marion County Fair’s board of directors. “We’ve programmed the traditional attractions that are beloved by our longtime fairgoers,” Biddinger said, “but we’ve also planned many new and exciting events, activities and features.”

Highlights of the fair include unlimited midway rides with $10 bracelet opening night, July 20, 10 p.m.-1 a.m., with a $12 bracelet July 21 and July 28 and 1-5 p.m. with $10 bracelet July 29; Open Car Show organized by The Original Circle City Corvette Club, July 23, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.; Gleaners Food Drive (bring a non-perishable food item to receive $1 off admission) July 25; free Wright Brothers concert on Ladies Night (women receive $2 off admission and ride midway attractions free when accompanied by a paid adult), July 26; The Knightsmen, 7:30 p.m. July 28.

Tickets are $4 per person (children age 5 and under are free). Two-for-one advance sale tickets are available at area Fifth Third Bank branches through July 19. Parking is free in fairgrounds lots.

For more information, call 317-353-2444. A complete day-by-day event agenda, plus registration forms and rules for a wide variety of competitions, are available by logging on at www.marioncountyfair.org.
