Dan Barden’s Community Fiction
by Editors Dec 26, 2007
Dan Barden, who teaches creative writing at Butler University, is again offering his Community Fiction Workshop. The workshop is open to all levels of accomplishment and skill, from high schoolers to Ph.D.s. Barden takes everyone at their word that they are working writers and encourages serious talk about what ensues, which, he says, is the only way he knows to have fun with it — and fun is encouraged. The workshop lasts 12 weeks beginning Feb. 6, Wednesdays from 7:15-9:45 p.m. The cost is $200. Send a 15-page writing sample along with a letter of application explaining your reasons for wanting to take the course by snail or e-mail to Dan Barden, Butler University Dept. of English, 4600 Sunset Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46205, or dbarden@butler.edu. For more information, call 317-940-9688. Deadline for application is Jan. 11.
