Block par-tay!
by Editors Oct 18, 2006

If it’s fall you know it’s time for one of Indy’s best neighborhood traditions: the Cottage Home Neighborhood Block Party. Now in its 22nd year, the Halloween-themed festival begins at 3 p.m. Oct. 21 with a dog show, followed by the popular Renovator’s Relay sponsored by Tim Harmon. Music is always central to the Block Party and this year’s entertainment will be provided by Ebenezer & the Hymnmasters, Stacia Demos, Khabir from Storyteller’s Drum and Dog Talk — who will have everyone dancing in the street from 8-11 p.m. Expect great food, costumes, beautiful lanterns and a lively drum circle.

The $5 admission fee (age 12 and under admitted free of charge) helps pay for entertainment. Proceeds from the Block Party will benefit Cottage Home Neighborhood’s beautification and land use projects. Cottage Home is a near Eastside historic neighborhood bounded by 10th, Oriental and Michigan streets.
