Punk-O-Rama

DVD Review
Punk-O-Rama, The Videos, Vol. 1 Epitaph Records The record label that brings you some of the most outrageous punk music now brings you a DVD, featuring many of those bands on a two-hour, bargain-priced DVD. All of the Epitaph stars make an appearance in their beer-chugging, headbanging glory: Rancid, NOFX, Pennywise, the Offspring and many, many others. While some of these videos were overexposed on MTV in their day, many others (the Division of Laura Lee"s wonderful "Need to Get Some," for example) were not. This DVD contains some of the most famous punk anthems of the past 10 years. Pennywise"s "Fuck Authority" and Death by Stereo"s "Desperation Train" are but two of them. As a bonus, the DVD includes a mini-documentary on the label, live cuts from the Bouncing Souls, a "behind-the-scenes" short on the making of the Pennywise video and, best of all, footage of Bad Religion from 1992. While many music DVDs are a waste of time and money, Punk-O-Rama is a treasure trove of good music and a bargain at twice the price.
