Two major stories

Reading my Indianapolis Star recently, I noticed buried next to ads in the middle of the paper an article about a terrorist car bombing at the American Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan. Just a week earlier, The Star buried an article about the end of a tragic hostage crisis involving a Hoosier and her missionary husband that had transpired for more than a year. The hostage-takers are linked to al Qaida by the U.S. government that is now advising the Philippine military - including the action that unfortunately took the life of the husband and father. Why would these two major stories not make the front page of The Indianapolis Star? 1. There is a Republican in the White House - aka house of white people. 2. Indianapolis Star publishers don"t want to scare us into reducing our consumer tendencies. 3. International stories that have national and local consequences involving terrorist don"t matter to homeland security when all we have to worry about is our beacon of freedom. 4. All the above.
