Aleksandr Sokurov's 'The Sun' will play Wednesday and Thursday as part of the Indianapolis International Film Festival. As of Sunday, April 30, the Indianapolis International Film Festival, featuring 116 films that represent more than 40 nations, had broken all previous attendance records. Yet the festival continues this week, culminating in a wrap party on Friday night.

There are still dozens of films to check out: Aleksandr Sokurov’s film about Emperor Hirohito, The Sun, the third installment of his series of figures who held “ultimate power” (Wednesday, 7:45 p.m. and Thursday, 2:45 p.m. at Landmark Keystone Art Cinema). Apparition of the Eternal Church, starring John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig & the Angry Inch) screens Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. and Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Landmark Keystone Art Cinema. You also have one last chance to catch Three Times, the highly-anticipated film by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-Hsien (Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. at Landmark Keystone Art Cinema).

Note that anyone who attends a film at Landmark Keystone Art Cinema (in the Fashion Mall at 8702 Keystone Crossing) will receive a free DVD.

Friday night’s wrap party at the Marott (2625 N. Meridian) will feature The Keni Washington Quintet and Lunar Event with beer provided by Stella Artois and food by Hoaglin Fine Catering. The Grand Jury Prizes and Audience Awards will be announced. Tickets are $35, or free if you’ve purchased an all-access pass to the festival. Doors open at 6 p.m. Awards begin at 7:30 p.m. Reception and music to follow till 11 p.m.
