Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat by Rita Kohn Broadway in Indianapolis Murat April 25-30 Call 317-231-0000 for time and tickets. A thoroughly delightful re-incarnation of the 1968 pop/rock musical spoof that launched Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. The vivacious, talented cast features Indianapolis’ own Children’s Choir during the local run. Twenty ICC singers join the two sons of star Patrick Cassidy as the "Children" who are the on-stage audience of the unfolding story, and whose voices and movement are integral to the telling. These kids are outstanding. Updated to the point of cell phones, the production’s concept is still a lot of laughs as a fractured biblical tale cast in the molds of star entertainers and hit musicals of the mid-’60s. Hip choreography equally fills the stage with a spectrum of genres from Calypso to Martha Graham. Gorgeous costumes and set design, along with inspired lighting and a fine orchestra complete a performance worth attending. Rita Kohn's Blog
