Stutz Artists Studio Tour
Visual Art
It’s hard to believe that this is the 13th year for the Stutz Artists Studio Tour. But whether it feels as if time has flown or is standing still, one thing is certain: The annual Stutz bash is one of this town’s arts highlights.
Not only do you get to visit the studios of some of the town’s top artists, imbibing food and drink along the way, you’ll hear live musicians and see lots of your friends — even if you haven’t any. What’s more, you’ll get to explore the Stutz, an architectural gem.
The tour takes place April 28 from 5:30-11 p.m. and April 29 from 12-5 p.m. The Stutz building is located at 10th and Senate streets.
New to the event this year are the “Bearcat Pass” and “Family Friendly Saturday.” The “Bearcat Pass” enables the patron to receive a passport stamp between 5:30 and 7 p.m. that makes him or her eligible for a grand prize drawing on Saturday. “Family Friendly Saturday” offers free admission to kids 16 and under when accompanied by an adult.
The Studio Tour is also a fund-raiser. Proceeds from admission charges help fund the Stutz Residency program, which provides a local artist with studio space for one year. This year a second resident will be named as well.
Tickets for the Stutz Studio Tour can be purchased at the Clowes Hall box office or at Ticketmaster for $8 in advance, $10 at the gate. Call 317-239-1000 to order by phone or go online at www.ticketmaster.com. Visit www.stutzartists.com for more information or call 317-691-4854.
