The Eastside’s Festival of Lanterns will be held Aug. 28, 3-11 p.m. in Spades Park, 1800 Nowland Ave. (rain location: Brookside Family Center, 3500 Brookside Parkway S. Drive).

Kicking off the event is a parade led by the Arsenal Tech High School Indiana Glory Drum Corps. Activities at the event will include art exhibits and demonstrations, local and regional musicians performing mountain, folk, blues and more (including the Punkin’ Hollar Boys, Ann McWilliams and Duke Tumatoe & the Power Trio), and the Lantern Lighting Ceremony will light up the park at dusk. There will also be children’s activities, old-time games, exhibits and a drum circle. For more info: www.enn.org/feast.
