Black Expo success. Summer Celebration proved itself a worthy legacy for recently departed the Rev. Charles Williams. The event — and the organization behind it — provides a long list of benefits to the community and helps make Indianapolis stand proud as a top-notch city.
Ignoring the news. IUPUI’s Brian Vargas released a poll last week showing Mitch Daniels with a small lead over Gov. Kernan, with 41 percent of voters still undecided. This important poll was reported in media across the state — except in The Indianapolis Star, where apparently only Gannett-sponsored polls get covered.
A moderate voice in the morning. Indiana’s largest news station finally has a Democrat for a talk show host — former Speaker of the House John Gregg. His open-line show is witty and homespun. Too bad more people can’t hear this moderate voice, because the show airs in the prime spot of 6 to 9 a.m. on Saturday.
