Art showdown
by Editors May 5, 2004

Art vs. Art is a $1,000 winner-take-all painting competition with a twist. The “losing” paintings are destroyed on the spot, and in dramatic fashion with chainsaw, baseball bat, chipper-shredder or other implements of destruction. The fate of a losing painting is determined by a spin of “The Wheel of Death.” Only the audience can stop its annihilation.

The showdown will be May 7, 9 p.m. at the Fountain Square Theatre, 1105 Prospect St. The art and music event will feature Virgin recording artist Caviar plus the J. Davis Trio, DJ Rusty of the Mudkids and ringside announcer Marvelous Mike Wiltrout of the Leisure Kings. $10 general admission. For more information, go to discoverfountainsquare.com or artvsart.com, or call 901-2772.
