TOO MUCH FUN. Rocky Horror fans do “The Time Warp” because the live version of Rocky at The Artists’ Studio is a raucous, raunchy, randy romp, and … you can throw things!

Most people know Rocky Horror as the audience-participation, cult-phenom movie. What many people don’t know is that it was originally done on stage. The Artists’ Studio brings this camp classic back where it started. But don’t fret — heckling is encouraged and you will be furnished with a pre-approved bag of goodies to use when the time comes. A Rocky virgin? Go and watch the more experienced Rocky-philes at work. You will get just as much of a kick from them. Skip the synopsis. The “plot” is irrelevant. Brent Marty as “sweet transvestite” Frank-n-Furter is too much! His strapping voice, flamboyant mannerisms and ass cheeks hanging out of his teddy were perfect Rocky Horror. Get a load of his mile-high red heels. He could take on the film’s star, Tim Curry, as the definitive Frank. Rebecca DeVries, Tim Garland, Diane Boehm and Laura Lockwood as Janet, Brad, Magenta and Columbia, respectively, did superior work in their parts, as well. Trevor Bates as Riff-Raff, while creating a commendable character, left something lacking in “The Time Warp,” and A.C. McClendon as Eddie, while having a superior voice, just didn’t have the rock and roll sound for “Hot Patootie.” Costuming, sets, orchestra … it’s all good. R. Brian Noffke gets props as the director, as does David Young as the musical director. Go with a group of friends. Dress as your favorite character. Be willing to get into it. This is not a spectator’s show. In fact, brush up on your Rocky vocabulary at www.cosmosfactory.org/rocky_horror_scripts.shtml, so you will be ready. The Rocky Horror Show continues through Nov. 2, Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. There will be a special midnight performance on Oct. 31.
