Art Clips: “The Big Sleazy … Murder at Mardi Gras”
by Lisa Gauthier Feb 21, 2007

Four stars

Mystery Café; Milano Inn.

Mystery Café events are uber unique. Don’t expect to just sit back and be entertained. Audience participation is a must, and the more you get into it, the better the overall experience. While solo performances are optional, throw self-consciousness to the wind and you might just come home with a Hammy Award. Rudy Nerhling and Jennifer Elliot lead guests through The Big Sleazy with lots of energy and enthusiasm. From the leaders of the Mardi Gras parade, to Butchie the female cop, to the town drunk, goofy good times are the rule with these two affable performers. The Big Sleazy isn’t as bogged down by exposition as some Mystery Café shows, and includes some great lines. For a night of not-your-typical-dinner-theater, this is a best-bet. Through April 15; 317-684-0668.
