The Ronen Chamber Ensemble will open its season with Her Voice, a concert celebrating women composers and chamber music performers. Music by three composers will be played, including the world premiere of “Seriously Blue” by pianist-composer Becky Archibald. Archibald will perform as pianist on “Seriously Blue” along with flutist Rebecca Arrensen, Ingrid Fischer-Bellman on cello and David Bellman on clarinet. Also on the program is Jennifer Higdon’s “Rapid Fire” for solo flute, Giovanni Bottesini’s “Duetto” for clarinet, double bass and piano and Louise Farrenc’s “Quintet in A minor” for piano and strings.
The concert takes place in the Wood Room of the Hilbert Circle Theatre Oct. 2, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20, $15 for seniors and $10 for students and American Federation of Musicians members. For tickets or information, call 317-846-9334 or go to www.ronenchamber.org.
