Indianapolis artist William A. Rasdell’s exhibit Photographic Art opens Jan. 15 at the University of Indianapolis’ Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center gallery, 1400 E. Hanna Ave. An artist’s reception is scheduled Friday, Jan. 19, 6-8 p.m.
Rasdell combines traditional photographic processes with digital technology to produce limited-edition pigment ink prints. His images often bear witness to the enriching African influence on daily life and custom throughout the Americas.
He has presented his works for exhibition in the United States, Italy and Cuba, and has been selected as artist-in-residence at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Madame Walker Theatre Center and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art.
The show will run through Feb. 9; the gallery is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays. Info: 317-788-3298.
