'Honk!'
Virtually swept under the rug in this country, Honk! won the 2000 Olivier Award (the British equivalent of the Tony Award) for Best New Musical against competitors The Lion King and Mamma Mia. Buck Creek Players will present the newest incarnation of Hans Christian Anderson’s story June 6-22.
Honk! is the story of Ugly, whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. When he is separated from his family, he must face a hungry cat and make his way home. Buck Creek regular D. Scott Robinson directs this family-friendly musical.
Show are at 8 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $15, $13 for children, students and senior citizens (62 and older). Call Buck Creek, located at 11150 Southeastern Ave., at 317-862-2270 for reservations, or go to www.buckcreekplayers.com for information.
