Lacks logic and knowledge
Steve Hammer’s columns continue to lack logic and knowledge (Sports, “Break Up the Pacers,” April 12-19).
Thirteen teams have less wins than the Indiana Pacers. So how is Indiana viable for laughing stock of the NBA?
The Pacers have wins over the top four seeded teams in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. So how does Hammer rank a conquest over playoff ineligible New York as Indiana’s biggest victory of the season?
How can James Jones and Dale Davis be pivotal losses for the Pacers when it’s likely neither would have been higher than the 10th rated player on the 2005-2006 roster?
Realistically, more qualified people than Rick Carlisle, Larry Bird and Donnie Walsh will not be available for hire. So how do the Pacers benefit from firings of their current coach and executive tandem?
Hammer’s Sports Listings were also flawed. Boston has a worse record than Indiana. So how can Boston’s troubles not quite equal those of Indiana’s?
Rickey Davis was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 26. So how could he be available to start for Boston on April 12?
