Wake up soon
My employer steals 45 hours a week from me and my daily commute steals another five hours so when Gov. Daniels stole an hour from me during the change to daylight-saving time I barely noticed except for the fact that waking up on Sunday morning was like waking up with a hangover. I agree with Steve Hammer in his April 5-12 column “There Is No ‘Daylight Savings’” when he writes much more than time may be stolen from us by the Republican Party. Not only are our civil liberties being stolen but increasingly our votes are being stolen through new “picture ID rules” and through errors in electronic machines that miscount votes. Indeed, if we don’t wake up soon our democracy may be stolen as well.
