Q: What are you reading now?
A: Currently, I am reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I am a big fan of the Wizard of Oz series by L. Frank Baum, and the writing style is so similar. Now, I only have four more to read to catch up with everyone else!
Q: What do you like about the Indy art scene?
A: The thing that I love the most about the Indy art scene is that there is so much to choose from. Besides TONS of theater, there are museums, ballet, opera, you name it! Also, Indianapolis has “big city” happenings without the bustle of a big city like New York.
Q: What don’t you like?
A: The competitive nature between theaters. While I understand that talent can be stretched pretty thin, I don’t see a need for competitiveness.
Q: Who’s your inspiration?
A: My major inspiration has been and will always be my parents. They are a wonderful support system for all that I do. I am also inspired by the talents of my partner, Aaron Bailey. His set designs and creations for our theatrical projects inspire both me and my creativity for each and every piece I direct.
Q: Drug of choice?
A: I am a diabetic, so my drugs of choice are my insulin types: Humalog and Lantus. Without them, I would not be here able to answer these questions!
Q: Who’s your favorite politician?
A: I am definitely NOT into politics, but if I had to choose a favorite, it would definitely be Mayor Bart Peterson.
Q: What’s the hardest thing about what you do?
A: Working with all the diverse types of people. Everyone in this world possesses their own views, opinions and beliefs on every subject. It is important to be able to respect and honor all of these different positions as you work with any group, whether it is five or 505.
Q: Name three people living or dead you’d invite to dinner.
A: Carol Burnett: She is the funniest human being on this earth. Lizzie Borden: Then I could find out if she really did murder her stepmother and father. Judy Garland: She is one of the most communicative, inspirational and emotional artists of all time.
Q: What’s your favorite TV commercial at the moment?
A: I really love the M&Ms commercial which uses the final scene from the Wizard of Oz to promote their black and white M&Ms contest. I must admit that I also really love the Meow Mix Hairball Formula commercial where the cat is trying to record in the recording studio and keeps ruining the takes because he is coughing on a furball!
Q: Can love be pornographic?
A: Is a pig’s ass pork???
