50 years ago today, Lyndon Johnson laid out his "War on Poverty". Here's a decent piece outlining the ongoing debate over those programs.

Now that we're digging out, let's have beer. Sun King beer. At the Sinking Ship.

Thanks to Matthew Tully over at the Star for tweeting the link to this bit of hilarity.

For those unfamiliar with Mr. Limbaugh's take, he claimed that the "polar vortex" was a "liberal hoax."

(Something to remember, boys and girls: Rush's job is not "America's Anchor," it's "Carnival Barker." Rush says things he knows will get press. [See? I just proved it!] Unfortunately, he's discovering that picking on science is where he'll have to live; misogyny, slut-shaming and random racist rants can rapidly pare away the advertisers willing to buy time on his program.)

NUVO will be on the streets after 1 today. We got backed up by the weather.
