Obamacare remains virtually intact.
The debt ceiling has been raised - well, for the time being, anyway.
The Shutdown of 2013, the Quixotic quest of Senator Ted Cruz and his Tea Party Compatriots over in the House, accomplished exactly this: it cost the U.S. economy 24 billion dollars.
So, the next time you hear someone from the GOP's right wing speaking about government waste - and then adopting these kind of scorched-earth policies in an attempt to curb that waste - consider the following:
That kind of cash could have funded WIC for three and one half years at current levels.
That kind of cash could've purchased the Indianapolis Colts from Jim Irsay, ending his Twitter rants forever - with enough bucks left over to buy 19 other similarly-valued NFL teams.
Or, to throw that cash at a 'shovel-ready' program, that kind of cash could've fixed Indy's South Split.
